Twenty years on the side of the Nerang highway — still the same fold-out table spirit, just a much bigger shed.
Ben's Banana Shed started in 2004 as a one-man operation on the side of the Nerang highway. Ben had a simple idea: buy direct from Queensland farmers, sell the same week, and never stock fruit that had been sitting in a cold store for months. Twenty years later, that's still exactly what we do.
What started as a small roadside stall has grown into a Gold Coast institution. We've built long-term relationships with growers across Tully, Bowen, Stanthorpe, and throughout Queensland and Northern NSW. When something special comes in — a bumper mango season, the first lychees of the year — our regulars know about it first.
We're family-run and proud of it. That means you'll often find Ben here himself, talking fruit with customers, loading boxes, and making sure every piece of produce that leaves the shed meets the standard he's been holding for 20 years.
These aren't marketing slogans. They're the reasons locals keep coming back.
We buy direct from Queensland and Northern NSW growers. No middlemen, no warehouses, no cold-store fruit. What arrives on Tuesday ships to you by Thursday.
Over 40 varieties in stock every week, changing with the season. If the best mangoes this week are from Bowen, that's what you're getting — even if they cost us more.
No contracts. No lock-ins. No inflated retail prices. We charge fairly, deliver reliably, and if something's not right we fix it — full stop.
